More than 300 people participated in the second annual Heart Walk in Myrtle Beach on Saturday. The on-the-beach event was hosted by the city of Myrtle Beach in partnership with the American Heart Association.

HEROES VEST FUND INC., a Lexington-based nonprofit, has donated tracking harnesses for each of the six K-9 police dogs serving the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department. Each harness includes a handle, Sheriff’s Department patches and reflective “SHERIFF” panels. The fund previously donated four body armor vests to dogs in the K-9 Unit.
