The real estate investment firm that owns the Inn at Palmetto Bluff said it would expand that facility, including building a 150-room five-star hotel.

Charlotte-based Crescent Communities also expects to build a spa and fitness center and add more dining and special event space as part of a more-than $100 million investment to expand the Bluffton resort, according to a news release.

The Inn, which currently has 50 cottages, sits on the 20,000-acre Palmetto Bluff residential community and conservation preserve.
