Winter storm causing flight delays, cancellations in Columbia

Winter Storm Hercules in the Midwest and East Coast was causing some backups at Columbia Metropolitan Airport on Thursday, officials said.

Three arriving flights have been cancelled – United Airlines flights from Chicago and Washington, and a Delta flight from New York’s LaGuardia Airport.

At least two departing flights also were cancelled, a United flight to Washington, D.C., and a US Airways flight to Philadelphia.

Some departing flights were delayed including Delta flights to Detroit and Atlanta and a United flight to Washington, D.C.
