Flights from Columbia Metropolitan Airport will resume at 12:30 p.m. Thursday with most flights back on schedule from that point on.
“We’re looking pretty good,” said airport spokeswoman Kaela Harmon. “We anticipate things will be back on track the rest of the day.”
The first flight out, Delta 4897 to Atlanta, is scheduled for takeoff at 12:17 p.m.. The first arrival, U.S. Airways flight 4067, is scheduled for 2:04 p.m.
The winter storm is still affecting airports in the Northeast, however. Four afternoon flights – to Philadeplphia, Washington, Detroit and Dallas-Fort Worth - remained cancelled.
“It’s a network,” Harmon said. “When something happens in once place, it does have a ripple affect.”
Harmon encouraged all passengers to contact their airlines for the latest updates. They can also check flight schedules at http://www.columbiaairport.com
The John Hardee Expressway leading into the airport is open and accessible, Harmon said, and airport facilities are cleared.
“Our facilities are ready for passengers,” she said.
All fights from the airport were cancelled Wednesday. Nine passengers were stranded at the airport, but were able to book rental cars and drive to hotels, Harmon said.
