The S.C. Bar Young Lawyers Division placed second in the American Bar Association YLD Next Steps Diversity Challenge for its program, the Color of Justice College Roadshow.
The Columbia Museum of Art elected its 2014-2015 board officers at a recent meeting: president, Claude M. Walker; vice president, R. Scott McClelland; secretary, Dr. Suzanne R. Thorpe; treasurer, Joel A. Smith III; and executive director, Karen Brosius. Trustees elected to serve for the Class of 2017 are: Kay Butler Bachman, Shani Gilchrist, Stuart A. Hamilton, Sidney Heyward Rex, Cathy Love, Mary Mazzola Spivey, Timothy M. McKissock, Michael G. Moore, Claude M. Walker and Stephen F. Serbin. Emily Brady placed first in the “Be the Curator” fundraising initiative; Anne Postic placed second and Brad and Stacey Collins placed third. Others recognized at the meeting were Julie C. Brenan, President’s Award; Jessica Derr, Director’s Award for employee of the year; Brandolyn Thomas Pinkston, Chairman’s Award; Palmetto Computer Consulting, Vendor Service Award; Nan Briggs, Docent of the Year Award; and Catherine Campbell, Mac Arthur Goodwin Award for excellence in arts education.
