Joe Numberger has been named director of operations for American Roadside Burgers, which will open a location in Columbia in Jan. 2013. Numberger, a veteran of the food service industry, most recently served as consultant and director of operations for the founders of the new South Carolina State Farmers Market. He also opened the first Qdoba Mexican location in 1999, which led to the opening of 24 other locations in three states. Numberger previously owned and operated Applegate’s Landing and Pandora’s restaurant in Northeast Columbia.
