Rev. Dr. Thomas A. Summers , a retired United Methodist minister in Columbia, has received the 2012 Distinguished Alumni Award from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University for his community service.


Dr. Bryan J. Wolf has joined Lexington Rheumatology, a Lexington Medical Center physician practice.


The Greater Chapin Chamber of Commerce elected 2013 officers including Jeremy Martin , chairman of the board; Adam Phelps , chairman-elect; Medea Holley , secretary; and Craig Carpenter , treasurer. Thomas TC Bowers , Scott Macfarland and Sarah Richter joined the board, Harry Cromer will fill a one-year term and Susan Horton and Craig Carpenter have been re-elected for three-year terms.


Jay Millen has joined DHR International as managing director of the firm’s new office serving the Carolinas.

State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management. The 2013 nominees include John Atkinson, Glen Brown, Darlene Fisher, Jennifer Floyd, Diane Frea, Stephanie Hess, Robyn Knox, Ed Parris and Michelle Powell .

Chris Reynolds has advanced to the position of director of safety and security for Southeastern Freight Lines in West Columbia.
