Whisky River, Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s EpiCentre nightspot known for its mechanical bull, plans to open a location next spring at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
The new Whisky River is one of several new food and drink spots coming to the airport, according to a newsletter sent to Charlotte Douglas employees. PZA, a restaurant serving pizza, stromboli and meatballs, as well as a new Starbucks location are also planned for next year.
Whisky River will open in the E Concourse, in the space occupied by Fox Skybox. HMSHost, the airport’s food and beverage concessionaire, is temporarily changing the name of Fox Skybox to Home Team Sports, in preparation for construction on Whisky River to start later this year.
The airport’s employee message says Whisky River will have “a menu featuring various appetizers, salads, sandwiches and burgers.”

“A special breakfast menu is also planned. Passengers will also have the chance to choose from unique desserts including fried candy bars and fried cheesecake,” says the newsletter.
There are also Whisky Rivers in Jacksonville, Fla., and Long Island, N.Y.
