Gov. Nikki Haley has been named Public Servant of the Year by the S.C. Chamber.
Haley will be honored Nov. 12 at the chamber’s 36th annual Summit at Hilton Head.
The chamber cited the state’s falling jobless rate and job creation during Haley’s administration.
“We are blessed to live in a place where our governor has put her heart and soul into making our state and the business community better,” said Ted Pitts, the S.C. Chamber’s chief executive officer. “We especially applaud Governor Haley for her leadership after the Charleston tragedy in bringing our state together at a time when we could’ve easily been divided.”
Never miss a local story.
The chamber also will honor its Business Leader of the Year and its Sgt. William Jasper Freedom Award winner at the gala, to be held at the Westin Hilton Head Island Resort and Spa.
