Here’s something both sides of the Medicaid expansion argument agree on: South Carolinians should watch the segment on the state’s situation that ran on PBS NewsHour last night.
Both the S.C. Department of Health and Human Services and the S.C. Progressive Network — who take strong stances on either side of the expansion debate — went on Twitter before the show, telling people to watch it.
The segment gave time for both sides – the low-income residents caught in the health insurance coverage gap because the state turned down Medicaid expansion, and the Healthy Outcomes initiative touted by HHS director Tony Keck for its innovative approach to get preventative health services to people who have frequented emergency rooms.
