Officials are searching for a teenager with a history of running away who was last seen in August while awaiting a bus to school.
Thomas Neil Thurman was last seen by his parents on Aug. 24 when he was waiting to board the late bus to Irmo High School, according to a news release from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.
He has not been seen or heard from since then, the release stated.
The teen’s father told investigators his son has a history of running away, but this is the longest his son has not returned home, according to the release.

The teen’s father told investigators he was running late that morning and was the last to leave the house, according to Sheriff Jay Koon.
Thurman is 5-feet 6-inches tall and weighs approximately 125 pounds. He was last seen wearing light-colored jeans and a light blue polo with three stripes.
