Get ready for the weather to take a turn for the cold – real cold – in the Midlands this weekend.
Friday will start out right around the freezing mark and creep up into the mid-40s, according to the National Weather Service forecast for Columbia.
Around 4 p.m. is when the mercury will start to fall, as temperatures are expected to drop as low as 23 degrees by 7 a.m. Saturday. But with wind, it could feel more like 18 degrees. (Bundle up, early risers!)
Things will warm up, relatively speaking, back to the 40s during the day Saturday before making another late-afternoon descent into the 20s overnight.
Never miss a local story.
Sunday temperatures will return to the 50s and bottom out in the 40s overnight into Monday, when things will warm significantly into the 60s.
