Former University of South Carolina cornerback Victor Hampton is facing charges for driving while impaired, among several other charges, after North Carolina Highway Patrol arrested him in Charlotte early Sunday morning.
Hampton, 22, was traveling 100 mph in a 55 mph zone near Westinghouse Boulevard in his convertible Camaro.
According to Mecklenburg County Jail records, Hampton was also charged with speeding, recklles driving to endanger and driving with an open container. He was released from custody on $2,500 bond.
Hampton, who attended Darlington High School, had 22 career starts in the 36 games he played for USC and had five career interceptions with 18 pass break-ups, according to his USC player profile. Hampton is a current cornerback for the Baltimore Ravens.
