Richland County sheriff’s deputies charged a woman with criminal domestic violence following a verbal argument that turned physical Sunday evening.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 2100 block of Heyward Brockington Road near North Washington Road at 9:45 p.m. to a domestic disturbance call. When deputies arrived they met with a male victim who had two puncture wounds to his upper body.
Deputies determined that 47-year-old Gladys Penn had stabbed her husband with a fire poker after the couple got into an argument. Penn was charged with criminal domestic violence and was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
The victim was transported to a local hospital to receive treatment for non life threatening wounds.
