Winds gusts cause scattered power outages in Midlands

Winds gusting up to 45 mph caused scattered power outages in the Midlands Wednesday night.

Winds gusting up to 55 mph caused scattered power outages in the Midlands Wednesday night.

SCE&G reported 3316 customers in Richland and Lexington Counties were without power at 10 p.m. By 1 a.m., as the strong winds moved out of the area, outages had been reduced to 399 in Lexington County and 628 in Richland County.

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for Richland County until 2 a.m. Thursday morning.
