Natural gas line rupture affected traffic near Forest Drive

A natural gas leak in the 3300 block of Harrison Road on Wednesday afternoon caused traffic issues.

A natural gas leak in the 3300 block of Harrison Road on Wednesday afternoon caused traffic issues.

All roads were reopened by 4:30 p.m.

SCE&G clamped the leak by late afternoon and remained on the scene to continue repairs. Utility crews are working on the shoulder of Harrison Road.

“Crews were dispatched around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday,” Columbia Fire Department Spokesman Brick Lewis, said. “No injuries have been reported at this time.”
