One westbound lane of I-26 in Lexington County has been closed to traffic because of damage caused by a fuel spill on Wednesday. The South Carolina Department of Transportation announced that the left-hand lane is closed just past the 115 exit (Cayce) until repairs can be made.
Repairs to the asphalt are expected to be made in time for the road to reopen Thursday by 6 a.m.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible until the road work is finished.
