LEXINGTON POLICE are among four law enforcement agencies recently lauded by the South Carolina Department of Public Safety for their effort to reduce drunk driving. The 48-officer town force was cited for excellence for vigilance against drunken drivers on the road, aiding victims and discouraging underage consumption of alcoholic beverages.

MILITARY

ARMY PVT. CURTIS D. MCNEIL has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson. He is the son of Lakisha McNeil of Ridgeway.

BENJAMIN HARRIS has joined the U.S. Army under the Delayed Entry Program. He is the son of Levi and Denise Harris of Eastover.
