Richland County soon will begin spraying for mosquitoes outside the city limits of Columbia, Forest Acres, Arcadia Lakes, Eastover and Blythewood.

Spraying helps keep mosquito populations under control. Employees will treat known breeding sites and spray for adult mosquitoes in densely populated areas.

Spraying usually occur between midnight and dawn. People who are allergic to resmethrin and permethrin should call (803) 576-2459 or (803) 929-6000.
