Columbia City Council: 11 a.m. Tuesday in the second-floor conference room at City Hall, 1737 Main St. Council holds its first budget workshop for 2014-2015 fiscal year, discussing public safety, health care and business permits. At 2 p.m., council in a work session will address the city homeless shelter and a long-term plan for dealing with the homeless population, among other topics. At its 6 p.m. regular meeting, council will decide whether to approve a contract for a comprehensive job and salary study of city employees; in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall.
