Fewer than 100 SCE&G customers remained without power Saturday morning after severe weather swept through region Friday night.
Nearly 6,000 SCE&G customers had lost power mostly in Richland County shortly after 9 p.m. Friday.
The National Weather service issued severe thunderstorm warnings for Richland, Lexington, Sumter and Calhoun counties. Wind gusts up to 60 miles-per-hour were reported in Sumter.
And golfball-sized hail was reported in Blythewood, in northern Richland County, and along the coast, in Horry County.
SCE&G reports 5976 customers without power in Richland County, the hardest hit county in the Midlands, as of 9:11 p.m.
Golfball- to-baseball-sized hail has been reported in the area of Lake Carolina. The South Carolina Highway Patrol reports downed power lines in Winnsboro and Blythewood and downed trees at Muller and Pine Grove Roads in Richland County.
