Tuesday’s Columbia City Council work session is the first to be streamed live.
Columbia residents and others interested in city government may follow council’s discussions during work sessions on their computers or mobile devices.
Today, the city had technical difficulties, and the broadcast was not functioning when the work session turned into an executive session closed to the public.

Never miss a local story.
Previously, only council meetings were streamed. Anyone who wanted to listen to work sessions had to attend the meetings that begin before noon or during mid afternoon had to attend in person at City Hall.
The change in practices for work sessions was done by mutual agreement between City Council and city manager Teresa Wilson.
