Sprint parking lot shooting still under investigation

Richland County Sheriff’s Department and the Solicitor’s Office are working together to determine whether or not the shooting that occurred at a parking lot in front of a Sprint store on Two Notch road last Thursday was in self-defense.

Last Thursday’s shooting that occurred in the parking in front of a Sprint store on Two Notch Road is still under investigation.

Sergeant Curtis Wilson, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman, said the Richland County Sheriff’s Department and the Solicitor’s Office are working together to determine whether or not the woman who shot her husband at the store, located at 10266 Two Notch Road, did so in self-defense.

What began as a verbal altercation between the woman and her husband escalated and resulted in the woman allegedly shooting her husband in the upper body. The couple’s teenage son and daughter were in the car when the shooting occurred.

The woman was detained by the Sheriff’s Department for questioning, but no charges have been filed against her. The husband was taken to a local hospital where he is still recovering.

The store was forced to close an hour early and posted a sign on the store front that said they had closed due to unforeseen circumstances. The store’s employees declined to comment.
