The Columbia Police Department will conduct safety checkpoints throughout Columbia over the holiday week and weekend.
The Traffic Safety Unit will increase patrols, conduct DUI and speed enforcement in various locations including a major Interstate, hospitality areas and parts of North and South Columbia.

* Wear your seat belt
* Obey the rules of the road
* Do not speed
* Stay alert
* Do not text and drive
Drivers are encouraged to call 9-1-1 if they suspect that a driver is impaired.
