Columbia will host the 41st Annual International Conference of Police Chaplains annual training seminar starting July 14.

Over 340 law enforcement chaplains from around South Carolina, the nation and the globe will descend on the capital city to participate in the seminar.

The five-day event will be held at the Marriott Hotel along Main Street, and host several local law enforcement agencies including the Columbia Police Department, Richland County Sheriff’s Department and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, among others.

The theme at this year’s seminar is called “Equipping Chaplains to Serve,” which will include 40 training sessions allowing chaplains to hone their skills in pastoral care ministry.

Past conferences have been held at other locations like Alabama, California, Tennessee, Texas, Michigan, Washington State and Jamaica.
