Cayce voters will decide at the Nov. 4 ballot on allowing sales of cartons of beer and bottles of wine of Sundays in the Lexington County community of 13,000 residents.

City Council approved the referendum Wednesday, mirroring a proposal to allow the sales in other parts of the county.

It is one of as many as four referendums on new taxes, school improvements and allowing Sunday sales countywide as well as in the city.

Approval by voters is required for Sunday sales to start.

Cayce becomes the fourth community in the county seeking to end the ban. Sales are permitted in Chapin, Irmo and Lexington.
