SC Air National Guard conducts defense exercise over Columbia, Florence

The South Carolina Air National Guard (SCANG) is conducting an air defense exercise over Columbia and Florence from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Fighter jets assigned to the SCANG's 169th Fighter Wing may be seen escorting a single-engine aircraft belonging to the South Carolina Civil Air Patrol, according to a release.

The exercise has been carefully planned and will be closely controlled, and has been coordinated with the Federal Aviation Administration, the release said.
