Two people, one a minor, were killed and multiple others injured in a two-car collision in Sumter Sunday, officials say.
Ronald Winston Holmes, of Sumter, died after the 1997 Lincoln Town Car he was driving crossed the center line and struck another vehicle head-on around 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Sumter County Coroner Harvin Bullock said Sunday night. Bullock said Holmes was in his sixties.
Also killed was Holmes’ 7-year-old grandson, Bullock said.
The crash occurred in the 1200 block of North Main Street.
Six others in a Ford Expedition SUV were injured. Their conditions were unavailable Sunday night.
