A boil water advisory has been lifted for customers of Hagood Avenue, from Millwood Drive to Trenholm Road, which is in the Melrose Heights neighborhood. The area is across from Epworth Children’s Home.

Following an intense flushing of the distribution system, bacteriological samples indicate the system is safe for drinking and cooking purposes, according to the City of Columbia Water Works.

The advisory was issued after the City of Columbia experienced an eight-inch water main break.
