Water customers in a Lexington County neighborhood near Hope Ferry Road are advised to boil water following a water main break on Monday.
Customers in the Hope Ferry Subdivision are advised to vigorously boil water for at least one minute prior to drinking or cooking, officials with the City of West Columbia said in a statement released Monday.
Also, any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.
In addition, any residents near the affected area who have lost water or water pressure are also advised to boil their water.
Water customers may check www.westcolumbiasc.gov for updates on the boil water advisory.
