A boil water advisory has been issued for the water customers of the Lowman Home Community until further notice by the City of Columbia Water works.
Customers on Wartburg Road, Fortress Drive and the surrounding areas are advised to boil their water for one full minute prior to drinking or cooking. Any residents near the affected area who have lost water or water pressure are also advised to boil their water for one full minute prior to drinking or cooking.
Also, any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.
The City of Columbia experienced a ten inch water main break, which could possibly result in bacterial contamination of the water for the Lowman Home Community.
