Two people were killed and a third injured in a collision on I-20 Friday night west of Lugoff in Kershaw County, the SC highway patrol reported.
The dead were identified by Kershaw County coroner Johnny Fellers as Tiffany Lynn Bethea, 28 of Blenheim, and Jamie Tyler Fludd, 21 of Marion.
Bethea and Fludd were traveling east when their 1999 Saturn, driven by Fludd, ran off the left side of I-20, hit a guardrail and moved back into the roadway where it was struck by another eastbound car and overturned, senior trooper Hanna Wemberly said.
Bethea and Fludd were pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of other car, a 1994 Honda, was injured and taken to a local hospital. Everyone involved in the accident was wearing a seat belt, Wemberly said.
The accident happened around 7:20 pm west of Lugoff between mile markers 91 and 91.
