Christmas Day should arrive fairly sunny and a little breezy, heralding an end to the rain that has dominated the weather since Sunday afternoon.
By Thursday afternoon, temperatures will reach into the upper 50s to around 60 degrees, which is typical for this time of year.
Thursday night should be pretty chilly, with lows in the low 30s, said Hunter Coleman, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
Moving into the weekend, expect similar temperatures, getting into the mid-60s on Saturday, Coleman said.
The Midlands is coming out of “a pretty significant rainfall” of generally 2- to 4-inches across the area.
