Not sure what to do with the oil you used to fry your Thanksgiving turkey?
Coastal BioDiesel is partnering with Carolina Wings and Children's Chance to collect used cooking oil Friday.
"Everybody likes to fry a turkey and nobody knows what to do with this stuff when they're done," said Don McLemore of Coastal BioDiesel.
Never miss a local story.
His company takes the used oil and produces biodiesel fuel out of it. By recycling the oil, it keeps it out of local water treatment plants.
McLemore suggests people pour the used oil back in its original containers and drop it off at any Carolina Wings location in South Carolina during regular operating hours.
Midlands BioFuels in Fairfield County is also collecting used fryer oil for recycling. Bring your used oil to any Fairfield County Recycling Center or the Midlands Biofuels Shop on Main Street in downtown Winnsboro. The centers are open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. and 2-6 p.m. Sunday.
