Richland County and Central Midlands are involved in two upcoming sessions this week:
Broad River Road area: The final public meeting on the future of the Broad River Road corridor is set for tonight.
The session is from 5:30-8 p.m. at Dutch SquareCenter, 421 Bush River Road, in the former Maxway space near Belk.
Central Midlands Council of Governments and Richland County's neighborhood improvement program are presenting the session.
Air quality: The Midlands Air Quality Forum is 8-9:30 a.m. Friday. The session, at the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce, will give businesses and organizations a chance to learn more about revised federal air quality standards and how to help the Midlands area meet those standards.
It is presented by the Central Midlands Council of Governments, Richland County, the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control, the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce, Lexington County, the city of Columbia's Climate Protection Action Campaign and Sustainable Midlands.
