A play about gangs called “Lost Dreams” will be performed free for the public at the Spring Valley High School auditorium on Monday, March 22. The play will dramatize gang recruiting techniques and activities, as well as signs for look for in children to determine if they are hanging around with gang members.
The event is sponsored by the Richland County Sheriff's Department and Reconnecting Communities Coalition.
Sheriff Leon Lott, one of early voices in local law enforcement to warn about the presence of gangs in the area, will be on hand and speak to the audience. Afterward, his gang task force will host a discussion. The audience is invited to ask questions.“Lost Dreams” is written Leasharn Hopkins.
