A Columbia area fire killed a cat and destroyed a double-wide mobile home at 200 Burmaster Drive but two people who lived there were not hurt, a city firefighter official said Sunday.
Fire officials are investigating what caused the Sunday afternoon fire, said Chief Aubrey Jenkins.
A van parked next to the home was also destroyed by the fire, he said.
In all, the fire did about $90,000 worth of damage to the van and home, he said.
More than 20 firefighters responded to the blaze, which was reported shortly after 2 p.m.
Burmaster Drive is near the intersection of Two Notch and Clemson roads.
The two people who live in the mobile home have gone to stay with relatives, Jenkins said.
