Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts has promoted several veteran deputies and detectives.
Billy Laney, 41, of Columbia, Marty Longshore, 35, of Gilbert, William Bradley “Brad” White, Jr., 34, of West Columbia, and Ed Prestigiacomo, 45, of West Columbia, have been promoted to sergeant.
Laney, Longshore and White will work as road patrol supervisors in various patrol districts. Prestigiacomo, who previously worked as a detective in the Major Crimes Unit, will be a supervisor for detectives who investigate property crimes in the South Region Patrol District, based in Pelion.
Christopher Lee, 41, of Chapin, and Byron Snellgrove, 46, of Cayce, were promoted to master deputy and will be shift supervisors in the Warrant Division.
Randall Marvin “Randy” Pfannenstiel, 52, of Chapin, will serve as a victim assistance officer in the Major Crimes Unit.
