A man who previously served time for dealing drugs has been arrested in Lexington County for trafficking crack cocaine.
Jamie Shannon Walker, 34, of West Columbia, was arrested by members of the Lexington County Multi-agency Narcotics Enforcement Team Thursday for his third offense of trafficking in crack cocaine.
Walker, who was recently released from a South Carolina prison, had been the subject of an undercover drug investigation started in July. During the course of the investigation, the team found that Walker had sold more than one ounce of crack cocaine.
According to deputies, Walker made arrangements to sell crack cocaine from a parking lot off the Augusta Highway on Thursday. When deputies said that when they approached his vehicle, Walker got out, tossed money on the ground and fled the scene. The investigation team later arrested Walker at a local business. Officers reported finding one ounce of crack cocaine, $524 in cash, digital scales and two cell phones after searching his vehicle.
In addition to trafficking, the arrest was Walker’s second offense for driving with a suspended license and resisting arrest.
