The Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office made several drug-related arrests Monday during a raid in the Dixonville area, the Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday.
Drug agents with the Sheriff’s Office made the arrests while executing a search warrant on Smyrna Road in Elgin, according to a news release. Three juveniles, ages 11, 6 and 5, were in the home at the time of the raid, leading to child endangerment charges against two suspects.
Deputies seized small quantities of marijuana and crack cocaine as well as numerous plastic baggies containing cocaine residue, scales, cutting devices, marijuana grinders and smoking paraphernalia, reports said. All of these items were located within easy reach of the children.
It’s the second drug-related raid in Dixonville in just over a week, the Sheriff’s Office said.Facing charges are: Antwan Simmons, 33, distribution of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine, simple possession of marijuana and child endangerment; Matakia Outten, 36, simple possession of marijuana and child endangerment; Ashley Dixon, 18, simple possession of marijuana; Ricky Belton, 49, possession of crack cocaine.
