Outbound traffic on Assembly at Whaley Street is moving again after Columbia city work crews repaired a water main break, and the road above it, that has disrupted traffic on this major thoroughfare since Tuesday.
The broken pipe was discovered Tuesday during work on an adjoining 2-inch main. Workers had dig up a large section of Assembly Street blocking southbound traffic from Whaley to Ferguson streets.
The broken line caused limited water outages in the area near the Capitol City Stadium. Water was restored Wednesday and a boil water advisory was lifted Thursday.
