Physicians added as SC state agency consultants

Three physicians have been added as consulting medical directors of the state Department of Health and Human Services to provide advice on pay-for-performance initiatives, clinical integration, hot spot interventions and quality improvement.

The three who will consult with the agency’s office of medical direction include Dr. Williams Jennings Jr., an emergency medicine physician with Palmetto Health; Dr. Michael Musci Jr., medical director of managed care for the Greenville Hospital System; and Dr. Philip Mubarak, founder of Carolina Pediatrics and an assistant professor at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine.
