Interviews are continuing for Richland County’s new elections director.
Two of the three candidates came in Tuesday; a third was kept away by a family illness, said board member Elaine DuBose.
Three members of the public attended the Board of Elections & Voter Registration meeting in hopes of meeting the candidates, who were ushered in through a side door.
Howard Jackson, election director in Orangeburg County and Adam Ragan, election director at Gaston County, N.C., each spent about an hour with the four-member board.
Patricia Jefferson, Sumter County’s election director, will come in on an “undesignated date,” board chairman Allen Dowdy announced.
