About 10,000 homeowners and businesses in northwest Richland County will pay a little less for sewage service starting July 1.
The rate cut will amount to $2 monthly for homeowners, with commercial reductions based on usage, county officials said Thursday.
The overall savings of $240,000 annually stems from more efficient operations and settlement of a dispute over building a new wastewater facility, officials said.
Those affected are in the Dutch Fork, Harbison, Irmo and Spring Hill areas, served by the Broad River regional sewage system.
