Myrtle Beach police arrested a 29-year-old woman and 82-year-old man on prostitution charges in the city, according to arrest reports.
Don Scarbough Fenters, 82, of Hemingway was charged with first-offense prostitution, while Alisha Caroline Phillips was charged with first-offense prostitution and two counts of unlawful to advertise for sale, manufacture or possess drugs, according to arrest reports.
A person stopped an officer about 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the area of 1512 Executive Ave., and told the officer that a couple was behind the building in a vehicle, according to the report. An officer approached the vehicle and found the couple partially clothed and engaged in a sexual act.
The witness told police he saw the vehicle swerving on U.S. 501 and thought it was a drunk driver, but when he got closer to the car he saw a young woman and older man engaged in a sexual act, according to the report. The witness followed the vehicle to where it stopped behind a building and then stopped the passing police officer to report the incident.
Officers reported finding drug paraphernalia in Phillips purse, according to the report. She admitted to police she was involved with prostitution, but Fenters declined to speak to police and requested a lawyer.
