Millions of lottery dollars are up for grabs this week in back-to-back jackpots, each of which could pay out more than $100 million.
Tickets for tonight's $106 million Mega Millions jackpot must be purchased by 10 p.m. for the 11 p.m. drawing. Each ticket cost $1. South Carolina has not had a Mega Millions winner.
On Wednesday, there will be a drawing for a $245 million Powerball jackpot. The $2 tickets must be purchased by 9:59 p.m. Wednesday for the 10:59 p.m. drawing. Six South Carolinians have won Powerball jackpots.
The odds in each drawing are not good, about 1 in 176 million. “While we hope the jackpot run will end in South Carolina, we urge all of our players to please, above all else, play responsibly," said S.C. Education Lottery Executive Director Paula Harper Bethea in a press release.
