The search continued Saturday for the driver of the blue BMW involved in a hit-and-run on Taylor Street early Friday morning that injured a local restaurant worker.
Surveillance video in the area captured the impact and was released to the public on Saturday with a plea for help identifying the car and driver involved.
The video shows the victim, a 27-year-old woman identified by her employer Lula Drake Wine Parlour as Kaylen Harris, crossing the street with friends on the 1200 block of Taylor Street just before midnight. A blue car in the westbound lane of Taylor strikes Harris, knocking her to the ground.
The driver is accused of not stopping to render assistance to the victim, police said.
Harris, who underwent surgery at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital her employer said on its Facebook page, was released from the hospital on Saturday and recovering at home, police said.
