The eastbound lanes of Interstate 20 at I-26 have reopened after a multi-vehicle crash closed them Tuesday afternoon.
The collision happened just before 2 p.m. on I-20 eastbound under the I-26 overpass, the Columbia Fire Department said in a tweet. There was no immediate word on what caused the crash or the extent of injuries.
All eastbound lanes were blocked in that area but have since reopened, troopers said.
Lance Cpl. David Jones of the S.C. Highway Patrol said on Twitter that there was “lots of debris” in the roadway, including large concrete blocks that spilled into the roadway during the collision.
