The motorcycle driver killed after crashing into an SUV in northeast Richland County late Wednesday was identified by Richland County Coroner Gary Watts as Pierre Delvon Johnson, 32, of Columbia.
The crash happened 9:20 p.m. on Clemson Road at Worthingon Parkway and involved a 2004 Yamaha motorcycle and a 2012 Toyota SUV, according to Lance Cpl. Judd Jones with the S.C. Highway Patrol.
The motorcycle was traveling west on Clemson Road and the SUV was traveling east, Jones said. The SUV was turning onto Worthington Parkway when the motorcycle crashed into it, causing the SUV to overturn.
Johnson, who was not wearing a helmet, died at the scene, Jones said.

The driver of the SUV, 54-year-old Miles Davis, was taken to Providence Health Northeast with minor injuries, Jones said.
