Crews continued combing the waters of Lake Murray Sunday and will resume their search Monday morning, if necessary, for a boater who was reported missing after his 4-year-old daughter was found alone in the boat.
Durham Alexander DeLaura, 35, of Lexington, is believed to have fallen out of his 15-foot boat Friday evening after leaving Sandy Beach on Bundrick Island, according to Capt. Robert McCullough, a spokesman for the S.C. Department of Natural Resources. Someone later called 911 after the boat drifted to shore with DeLaura’s 4-year-old daughter alone on the vessel.
Crews on Sunday focused their search around Bundrick Island and Panorama Point, McCullough said. Search efforts included a DNR plane, boats and sonar.
McCullough said crews would continue searching as long as they had daylight Sunday.
